quote Shuyu
The original choice to develop the game on mobile phones shows that they did start off thinking of purely the Japanese audience. Of course, then they remembered that the first two games were released outside of Japan and realised that there was probably still a fanbase and money to be had, and so made it more likely that a release outside of Japan for The 3rd Birthday would happen.
not like that.

they've had a very high-end mobile technology and wanted to make this game for cell phones, but then it turned out there aren't many phones today (in japan particularly) that could run this. so instead of watering down the game they decided to make it for PSP.

But that doesn't change the fact that they were originally thinking solely of the Japanese market, whether the technology was there or not.

yeah but that's not what you've said.

Well it is what I said, but I should have left off the stuff about transferring the project to the PSP. Because you're right, the technology wasn't there for either of their... rather ambitious projects, so for the sake of being able to actually get the games out their and make money of them, they moved them.

Shuyu :

The way I see it, Aya's probably made offing NMCs her purpose, and since they're declining, there's not much for her to do BUT go out, meet a guy and get married. She probably welcomes the opportunity to do so.

Well, if the guys in SQUARE actually serious about developing PE games further, I think they should sit down and think things through carefully.

For example, Eve (Melissa Pearce, not Evie) from PE1 was trying to produce the Ultimate Being by giving birth to it (after artificial insemination process by Dr. Klamp).

Now, don't you think that Aya, being born from the same genetic matrix as Eve (of PE1) could likely to do the same if she was to mate and have children?

Yes, I know that there could probably be rejection due to Mitochondria passed by the father (like what happened to the Original Ultimate Being in Japan - in the movie), which could mean that Aya could likely be unable to conceive, or have miscarriage in every attempt to conceive or if by miracle, she does conceive, probably give birth to an Ultimate Being which could off the human race (or live as normal human being).

Or maybe I'm just thinking too deeply here.

Frankly speaking, unless SQUARE could introduce an alien being (who could not have Mitochondria in his blood) as a father of her children, I really don't see any way out of this situation.

Maybe the 4th game could have Aya giving birth to a child who ultimately she ends up having to destroy as it's a threat to humanity. It would be an interesting title.

(Not like the giant baby from Parasite Eve 2, though).

Actually, they already did that in PE1 - ya know, when you go against the last boss (who started as a baby). I actually felt sorry for the kid.

i thought that the baby was KINDA cute..but i really love using liberation on it.. it was fun

i was happy that their sticking to 3rd person, coz it's easier to see everythin..and i read in wiki that she is still in her 30s and has a body of 20s coz of her mitochondria..and i also like to see eve(pe2) all grown up:D

Depend on the story itself, ya could get yer wish.

When PE2 ended, how old was Evie? 8 yrs old?

What I wanna know is, how they gonna balance the story with Evie in it. It could be an easier tasks if Evie didn't exist and they could start from scratch (thus introducing Evie for the first time).

Also, I find it odd that there have no mention any info. on who Aya suppose to marry.

Didn't ya guys find it odd that she could get dress up in a wedding dress, walk the aisle and everything, but there is NO mention whatsoever on who the lucky (or unlucky if he is the one who gonna get shot) guy is.

It'll be more interesting, they have changed Aya toooo much; we can see the changes between pe1 and pe2- I don't know what they're trying to do. Remember what have happened to Yuna? Are they trying to create a new kind of "Lara Croft" ? Maybe.

If they turn Aya into another Yuna (from FFX-2), all I can say is - "NOOOOOOOO!!!!".

Seriously, wat wrong with them? Do ya see CAPCOM turning their best female characters into something that crawls out of a porn movie?

Well, they did put Jill Valentine in a short mini-skirt in Resident Evil 3 but that is because she was a civilian and wouldn't be wearing a police uniform (or an armour).

Well, the point is Female characters in shorts - NOT FUNNY.

Such costume is not required in the game for any apparent purposes, and they should put a more decent look toward their female characters. This includes Yuna (too late for her), Ashe (she wore the shortest miniskirts I have EVER seen) and Aya.

And Eve must be in her 16's, I think. Such as a young girl, tries to make her life normal, maybe she doesn't remembers anything about her past.. (well, from a fiction)

Does Aya seem younger? I think so, in the 2nd game when you go to Dryfield and look at the mirror she says something about her age and her own mitochondria which makes her younger..

Actually, at the end of PE2, ya could get a scene where it stated that Evie have started to go to school and her powers was sealed off (by herself). Something like what Aya did at end of PE1 (which is why ya need to reactivate those powers back in the beginning of PE2).

And yeah, in Dryfield, when ya look into a mirror, ya will get a dialog. Aya will say something about a story of a 14th century knight who lived till end of the century (Highlander perhaps) and that her mitochondria makes her look younger for a reason.

Forgive for the double post, but no one posted here for some time and I just wanna add.

Have ya guys watched Primeval (British TV show)? The reason I asked is cos, I was watching it the other day (Season 3) and something occurred to me.

In that show, wormhole-like "anomalies" will appear randomly and dinosaurs will pop out thought and a team could be summon to bag and tag it and throw it back inside. In some cases, they could be killed if they become too dangerous.

Somehow, it felt something like in the 3rd Birthday itself.
