At this point, there isn't even a tentative Japanese date, over than "2009" which has been thrown around a bit.
I presume that if the game sells well enough, Square Enix might consider taking it to America and then, hopefully, also Europe.

yeah really i hope they do i think ill pull out my ps1 and replay 1 and 2 tonight or over the next few days great games they should do a re-make or a port with updated graphics or something for the newest systems

They should remake it, especially seeing as how remakes and spin-offs seems to be all Square Enix does these days.

The game's not actually available for pre-order yet, but there is now a listing on Amazon Japan.
