Forum Rules

Welcome to the forum. It is important that the forum has set rules in order for it to be productive. I will try my best to keep the forum in the best condition it can be, but it is important that all of you help by following the rules.

For Reference:
  • Forum-Wide Rules
  • Total Extreme Wrestling 2004 Forum
  • Total Extreme Wrestling 2005 Forum
  • Wrestling Spirit Forum
  • Wrestling Spirit 2 Forum
  • Wrestling Forum

  • No Spamming or Flaming: This is a simple rule, and if obeyed will significantly help in building a strong community. Spam posts are meaningless posts that have little or no relation to the topic. It can also constitute as posts with little effort put into them. Flaming is an insult directed at a member, or in the forum's case, a diary. Please refrain from doing either.

  • Advertising: I understand that in order for EWR to function you will need the help of links to other sites. However, blatant advertising of a website for the purpose of getting members/hits is strictly forbidden and will result in a ban.

  • Don't Abuse The 'Report' Feature: Any post in the forum that you feel needs my attention, please report it. However, abuse of this feature because of personal vendettas or other reasons will most likely result in a ban.

  • Bypassing Bans: This means that you try to post under a different alias to get around a ban. The only thing that will result will be a longer ban on your current account. This is very important, and if you feel that your ban was unjust then simply PM me and we can discuss it.

  • Plagiarism: While Neoseeker generally doesn't recognise post content as belonging to an individual, that is not the case when it comes to diaries in this forum. The layouts and, much more importantly, content of people's diaries are the sole property of the creator and can only be used with permission. Plagiarism will not be taken lightly.

Continue posting feedback on the forum in this thread, please.

I did have an idea to run by the masses, I like it but if there is a big outcry against it then I may think twice about doing it. I am considering scrapping the current header system for the forum, so that instead of the header changing every time you refresh there is a calendar-esque system in place. What that means is that every month there will be a GFX competition [held in this thread] with the winning banner being the header for a month. Obviously the banners needn't be themed to the month [though I would definitely welcome that] but the month would need to be on it somewhere.

    Thoughts?

I don't really mind about the header system, but I think that having a contest every month would get a bit excessive and the same people will win mostly. Perhaps every few months, because once a month seems a bit overkill.

How about one constantly-running thread where people can post headers etc and then one per month is chosen.

I was planning on running it in the EWR & TEW Downloads & Graphics Request thread, as a permanent thing. All throughout the previous month people could submit entries, then I'd pick my favourite and up it goes. I think I may go ahead with it, I'm personally not a fan of the changing header. Besides, I've seen them all so much now they are starting to bore me.

Look for a post soon in the D&G thread.

Honestly, there's a real problem with layout stealing round here, I think bans and restrictions are gonna have to be used so that people get the message. Why can't people find their own original idea for something so simplistic? It's pathetic.

Believe me I have noticed, I noticed a long time before I became the moderator here, as it was often my layout being copied.

Honestly, I am getting sick of people's lack of originality. Anyone who I deem to have stolen a layout from another member will have their diary closed until I am satisfied that they have created their own. That doesn't mean a tweak here, and a tweak there. It means creating your own layout from scratch. I will do a quick scan of active diaries now and send PMs to the offending creators.

Failure to adhere to this rule will result in a ban.

For the moment, yes, as I don't think it is copied from anyone else.

However, if anyone does think that someone has stolen their layout drop me a PM linking to your diary and their diary, and I'll assess it.

Obviously at the moment I have only taken action against people I know have copied from someone because they have copied from Shape and me.

Slim why are you getting so frustrated on peoples layouts, everyone's shows layouts are basically the same and your just being to fussy about it. I respect that you want your diary to be original to everyone else's but i tried my best in changing it a bit but still looking good. Just chill out, you've already closed 3 diaries and if you carry on closing peoples diaries their not even gonna make a diary and the whole forum will be swamped with shit diaries!

It's a complete joke, bring back Static, he was laid back!

Everyone has their different mod styles. I happened to be laid back while Slim seems to be more hands on. He's found out stuff so far that I either didn't do or is doing it a different way.

I'm sure if you had your layout constantly stolen/'borrowed' without permission then it would start to piss you off. I believe that Slim and Shape have said numerous times that they will most likely let you use their layout if you just ask them.

I am perfectly happy to be laid back the majority of the time, and I'm certainly not a ban someone just because I can type of moderator. Personally I feel stealing [and that is exactly what it is] someone's layout isn't acceptable, and it's just a small step towards stealing content. I want to nip this in the bud right now.

Obviously as you haven't had a layout you worked to perfect stolen, you would not realise how frustrating it is but mine is taken all the time, and it speaks volumes about the people that do it.

I've had headers stolen in the past, TheKingOfKings always steals my logos/headers, he even stole my belts once in the SVR07 Forum!
