Use your Ryu Book. I don't remember which number it is, but it tells you where you can find monsters and the items they hold.

Is there any easy way to obtain virus cores in Vol. 4? I just have the hardest time getting any further in the game, when you have to have so many virus cores to progress in the story... Everytime I attempt to data drain a moster for virus cores, they never give it to me and then the data drain goes nuts... lol Is it all just random or might there be a trick or something to get virus cores? lol It just annoyed me so much, I had to stop playing... *sigh*

oh i c ur problam. you have a way better chance of geting virus cores if your infection levels are low and if there high you almost never get them, just go to a low level area, fight monsters till your infection rate is really low then take out the old ryu book and track down which ever kind of monster you need that has the virus core you need. your still not guaranteed to get it right away but youll get it in about the first three tries.

Just find one set of keywords that you can find each virus core at easily. The small monsters tend to hang out in separate worlds from the big monsters, and you want small monsters in the Omega server for J cores. Small are about the size of Kite or smaller usually. Also the Ryo book will tell you what monsters drop what cores, or if they drop a core at all.
As for making it easier, just level up in another server until you're at a level that you can handle the monsters better. Taking Blackrose and maybe a healer helps too.
