Look up .hack//Fragment. Online game, failed soon after release in Japan, before the U.S. release. It was REALLY boring.

Yeah, Fragment failed miserably in Japan so they won't bring it over to the US. If they come out with a better version of The World, one with Root towns, the ability to solo or go with just 1 other person in your party rather than a mandatory party of 3, and something to do other than get people on a BBS to join your party and do dungeons. The game didn't have much to it really, though if they had Root Towns and events and things like that it might've succeeded. Hopefully they'll make a better version of it in the future.
