and if you don't have enough red souls to level up your blades then you can go back into the sewer and equip akos red haori and walk back to where you are pushing the cleaning ball and fight the genma that are there until you have enough red souls to level up
p.s.
the number of eyes in the blobs on the doors is the level you have to have your corresponding at
i.e. at notre dam the blob resonates with light(Tenso)
