To try to revive the forum, I'm opening a General Discussion.
I don't know who to ask for permission, because the only closed thread, the moderator quit apparently.
So who wants to revive the forum?

I don't know if this will last long. I would change the thread name from General Discussion to something like Forum Revival.
Last time I checked Mod's dont like having GD's in forums without moderators.

Hope it's all right to post a question about getting past a point in the game, here . . . ?
I just got my old SNES system working again and was playing SMW again, last night, and remember I've always had a question about a possible backdoor or secret exit out of one of the dungeons . . .
The problem, right now, in trying to look up cheats is I cannot remember which dungeon it is. ;}
It's one of the first few dugeons-- there are bunch of those large saws that go back and forth on the ground and drop down from higher stone ledges . . . you know where I mean?
You can get a flying feather for Mario in the dungeon and then, instead of going into the big red doors at the end, you can walk on the ledge over them and get on a ledge where, towards the right, is a huge lake of lava with jumping fireballs.
The question I've always had is whether you can fly through all those balls and get across the lava lake to something-- like a backdoor?
I suck at making Mario fly the way I want him to, so even if the answer is *yes*, I probably won't be able to pull it off. I just want to know.

I dont remember that place, but somewhere in the first ghost house if you make Mario fly up to the ceiling, there should be a ledge sticking out. Land on it and keep running. You should find a secret way out which takes you to a level as big as Yoshi's house. Here you can get fireflowers and feathers.

I remember that level slightly, I don't know if it was a castle or fortress though, I don't know if this is right but I think when you fly over the lava you will eventually get a place to land on. while flying over the lava you will have fireballs jumping from the lava, I think it just leads to another red door to those rhino like things that breathe fireballs. I can't be sure if all that is right, but that is what comes to mind for me.

it slow and come prepared for this level. There is no midway gate and at the
end of it all, another battle with Reznor. This stage just won't let up.
You may notice that above the path that leads to Reznor is another path that
leads to a large pit of lava. If you can fly across this pit, which has many
Podoboos and is very, very wide, your reward will be 9 1-UPS. FORGET IT. It
is sheer suicide even if you're a decent flier.
