OMFG I cannot beat them. I shot 19 Shotgun shells PLUS 18 Hunting Rifle bullets. THEY DONT DIE. The max I wne to with the pistol after all those shots... was about 30 bullets. 19 Shotgun bullets + 18 Rifle bullets + 30 pistol bullets AND THEY DONT *bleep*ING DIE? WTF!!!

If you can avoid them for long enough, they'll kill themselves, but it takes bloody ages though. Just keep running around the edges of the room once you run out of ammo.

Huh, I didn't know they killed themselves if you waited long enough, that'll definitely save on ammo... so it's pretty much like the first PH fight, eh?

There's no point in the game where you ever have to attack PH to progress. Shooting him just speeds up the battle.

I think the amount of time it takes simply expands with each difficulty level. Bloody annoying is all that is; I don't have that sort of patience.

Yeah, that's pretty much it, the Hard Mode takes allegedly about half an hour...but if there's no more ammo then it's the only choice left to you. And I have now, weirdly enough, posted in this tiny thread under three different accounts. A lifetime's supply of goose eggs to the first person who can tell which ones are me.

I think that the pistol is probably the best bet here, since you can still hit them to speed up the wait for the Sirens to give them their final command. But with the pistol, you can still walk around freely, and you're more likely to have plenty ammo left for the last fight if you don't use your stronger weapons here. Of course, there's always melee, but it's never a pleasant thing to try and get up close and personal with even one PH in hard mode, let alone two. Honestly, though... I have a heck of a hard time making it past the "Hallway" chase scene on hard mode, so I've only played it all the way through once on that difficulty.
I always hate when timers work against you. Thankfully, the clock is your friend here. And if all else fails, there's almost always another way out (UFO or Dog endings)

Ionically, in the last fight with the Upside-down Maria/Mary thing, once you have no ammo left, the battle will end almost instantly with you victorious, as in the first game's last boss fight. So using up all your ammo on the two PHs is tactically a strong move.
And I lied above when I said that you never need to shoot PH to progress: On Hard Mode, you need to shoot him through the mesh when you're escaping down the final corridor in the Evil Hospital, to slow him down so that Maria doesn't get killed before you get to the lift...Where she gets killed anyway, but whatever.

Got me.... I thought is has hard to believe that you could win the game without any ammo in the Final Battle. Funny Guy Jake.
Personally, I'm not sure if I'll try Hard Mode. I would like to unlock the Extra Riddle Mode though. I've beat this game at least six times, I have both the PC and PS2 versions and still haven't unlocked it. I not sure if I have to play in Easy Riddle Mode first or what, I've always used Normal and Hard Riddle Modes.
