Jeff Hardy should certainly be the man to take the belt off Punk, after a lengthy fued of course.
Edge needs time away from the belt, 9 title reigns is a joke
Thats complete bullshit man, Jeff Hardy should never take the belt of Punk. Edge shouldn't be kept out of the title screen yet. WWE is so shit, that they pushed CM Punk into the main titles straight away, they could of left him in the United States/Intercontinental scene for a year or two. They should of kept Colt Cabana, called him up and teamed Punk and Cabana again, for Punk to be pushed in the Tag Team scene. And eventually World Title scene.
Yet? Edge has been in the title scene for the last TWO years! Save for the Hell in a Cell build-up between him and Taker. Punk is a former World champ and probably THE most marketable guy besides Rey on SmackDown!. To have him stay in the IC title scene would not only push down others like Morrison/Shelton/R-Truth, but would just have SD! consist of more Edge/Jeff bouts, with the occasional Jericho input which would be lame.
Things need to be switched up, and main-eventers need to be formed now. With Umaga leaving, that just makes things even more drastic.

Jeff Hardy's girlfriend Beth Britt twitter this morning and said Jeff broke his finger and injured his shoulder during his ladder match with Edge at the WWE Extreme Rules PPV. Hardy was seen on camera holding his shoulder after he and Edge fell off one ladder and through another, but he continued working the match following the fall without favoring his shoulder.
So it makes sense that Punk cashing in happened on the fly. After all, why would WWE keep a belt, much less put a belt, on someone that is inju.... *bleep*ING BATISTA!!! Damnit, why the hell do they put a world title on a guy that actively competes against Ken Kennedy for number of injuries obtained on an annual basis. I believe Kennedy's rate of injuries in the past 3 years has been 2.3 per year, while Batista is right behind him at 2.1 per year.
Also Keep in Mind Jeff Hardy never goes out on injury
Just pointing out

Fun fact: Last Sunday was the first time ever the WWE title has changed hands in a steel cage match.
What a *bleep*ing waste. Lol.

No, apparently he's right. Been defended a bunch of times in a steel cage and Hell in a Cell, but no Title Change. Apparently it also seems Jericho winning the belt off Batista last year marked the first title switch for the Heavyweight Championship inside a steel cage as well.

Jeff's fine though, he worked at the Smackdown tapings.
And if that was the case with Batista a MITB cash in on Orton instead of Hardy would've made a lot more sense, seeing as a Punk-Orton feud would be exactly the kind of new product Raw needs right now, and it's a lot more logical than them opting to have him take it off Jeff and "turn heel".

Would make it weird since Punk is on SmackDown! though, and we'd go through another debacle of "O NO X BRAND HAS NO CHAMPION"

Eh, I think they could pull off a draft with the MITB cash in, even though they haven't done that since Kane's ECW title reign.

Um didn't Edge cash in on The Undertaker while being on RAW back when he won the briefcase off Kennedy?

I think he stole it off another site. No way he makes something that good.
Anyway, Punk/Jeff/Edge should be great. Smackdown is really delivering these days. I was just surprised as anyone when he cashed it in after
Jeff won. I think it was a given if Edge retained, but it was really shocking what happened.
So Punk is heel now?

Seems the 'E might be about to go "old school" with PPVs:
quoteDuring screenings of the WWE Extreme Rules PPV at various locations, such as Hooters, WWE representatives were handing out surveys to the fans. These surveys were asking for feedback on different ways of PPV viewing of future PPVs. One of the questions was regarding fans paying cover charges at bars or restaurants to watch WWE PPVs.
Another portion of the survey questioned fans about the interest in watching WWE PPVs aired via closed circuit in high definition at movie theater chains. Cineplex Entertainment in Canada already does this. Before the boom of PPV, major arena shows, including the first three WrestleMania events used closed circuit. WWE did some testing for this back in 2008, when they released the Greatest Superstars of Wrestlemania DVD for a short run in Carmike Cinemas.
In the last few years, Fathom Events and Sony's Hot Ticket have used closed circuit theatres to show live concerts, opera events, Broadway shows and other events.
Sounds good to me, it's probably cheaper than buying the PPV. And Hooters is always a good place to watch the action...and the action.

I've watched WWE PPVs at Movie theaters in here. Get to watch them for $15 instead of the $40 price. ^^
