Having been on Neoseeker approaching four years now with each of those offering my profile the same, continuous neglect, it's somewhat overdue that I should actually fill this out.
Behind the Celes Leonharts and ToxicMages, my real name is Tommy and as my Neo account hits that fourth year I'll be 17. London doesn't hold in my interests, but no basic introduction should do without noting I've spent the entirety of my life here, almost the same house, for better and (mainly) worse.
In terms of what I do actually like, beside the obvious Neoseeker, my moderator tags drop a couple subtle hints: I'm a gamer, stated as if it's a unique characteristic to the site. While the cleverer of you might guess a strong preference in the PC field, you'd be slightly misled; I started on the SNES and have remained a console gamer to date still. I appreciate the attributes of each, where some genres blatantly work or perform endlessly better on one platform than another (FPS games on PC an easy pick.)
Prompted by Neoseeker's demand to "include your favourite games", it's easiest to highlight that beside the very casual runs through the likes of Super Mario, Street Fighter II and the Addams Family, my first real gaming love started with a second-hand, car-boot sale purchase: Final Fantasy VII. What started as a spectating awe has blossomed into a concentrated love for everything JRPG. Beside obvious favourites in the golden (PSX) era of Final Fantasy titles, VII remaining my favourite, my two other favourite RPGs are The Legend of Dragoon and Shadow Hearts, which I don't expect to be ever be topped in my heart.
Moving away from the slightly embarrassing Eastern influence, I've been playing First Person Shooters since before they were cool, and admittedly will have probably spent more time playing online than playing any other genre to date. With this said, honorable mentions are Delta Force: Black Hawk Down, Soldier of Fortune II, Call of Duty 2 and Team Fortress 2. More single-player experiences first-most, Deus Ex towers as a god of gaming.
Concluding gaming before I ramble indefinitely, I have a mid-range gaming rid, have owned every this gen console (record tarnished with a recent Playstation 3 sale) and most consoles before it. With the PC excluded, I'd easily put my favourite console down as the original Playstation. Featuring the best of Final Fantasy, Legend of Dragoon, Kudelka, Resident Evils, Metal Gear Solid, the Spider-Man titles ... There's not really anything that can compare to the experiences I've lived through it.
Dawning that I have more to me than just games, I should probably elaborate in that I have a hobby surprisingly more prominent than even gaming -- music. A quick count just confirmed that my personal collection of CDs reaches over 300 and my iTunes reads around 30-something gig. Considering 95% of it's legally obtained, I suppose there's no shame in saying I'm quite proud of it. I always have great difficulty in having to pick a favourite artist, genre, album and so on, but under forced circumstances I think I'd satisfy in announcing blink-182. I certainly can't say it'ss my favourite album, but their self-titled release also sits as one of my favourites ever. More concise, my favourite albums of 2008 are Bon Iver's "For Emma, Forever Ago" and dan le sac vs. Scroobius Pip's "Angles". Hip-hop and indie-folk -- take from that whatever you might.
The realisation will soon hit that I'm a complete media whore. Accompanying games and music I'm also a big film fan. Starting August, I've seen over 30 different films at the cinema of '09 and have a DVD collection again I'm pretty happy of. I could list on and on my favourite films but pretty much every effort consists of following continuous thoughts of "bugger, I forgot xxxx!" No specific genre, I'm a fan of most things, though especially the more cliché in themes of love. My overall favourite film is Fight Club, as other subtle investigation may hint at. Favourite actor is Christian Bale and actress is Helena Bonham Carter.
Before I have essays written for every interest I have, I'll try and finish things more brief. I love TV and more specially British comedy on the lines of Nevermind the Buzzcocks. My favourite drama is House and my favourite comedian and general celebrity is Stephen Fry. I have guilty pleasures of enjoying teenage fantasy novels, and despite my more preferred genre being fantasy on a whole, my favourite book is The Liar. My favourite sport is Badminton and my better school subjects have always been those more focused in writing ability, so the obvious English branches and the likes of Media. I regularly work at a local charity shop and intend to give a fair amount of what I can to charity in general when I'm older. I want a career which I feel justifies living, and at the time of writing, am considering being a doctor. I always wanted to be a lawyer but the thought of defending guilty people led me otherwise. I have a strict sense of morals.
If you've somehow reached this end legitimately, I salute you. You probably know more about me than most people; thanks for the effort.
