| STOMPABLE THINGS WHICH SUCK | UNSTOMPABLE THINGS WHICH ARE AWESOME |
TV > UK TV With the US TV season over it becomes abundantly clear why I watch so much US TV in the first place i.e. that there's NOTHING good on UK TV. Thank goodness for sport this summer...
MUSIC > New Greenday It saddens me to jump on the anti-Greenday bandwagon but having listened to the album I can't help but wonder where it went wrong. Kind of like watching a wise-cracking elderly relative fall into worsening dementia. GAME > Nintendo's E3 Conference Not much to say about this apart from :/ |
TV > The Mentalist Catching up on this show on FIVE. Yes it's trashy and formulaic and for some reason the atmospheric music consists of a guy playing a bass guitar FAR TOO LOUD. However, it's filling that smart, well polished drama hole that House left in my TV watching schedule.
MUSIC > Phoenix/Mumford & Sons Two bands that have recently caught my eye share the spot for unstompable music. Except that ironically, stomping Brit-folk is exactly what M&S do so well. Phoenix on the other hand have just released a real gem of an electro-indie-pop record. GAME > Braid Quite possible the most enjoyment I've got out of a game since Portal. This is a wonderfully smart platformer with a beautiful art style to boot. |
