Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith
And I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
...
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
...
I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for change
Killed the Tsar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a General's rank
When the Blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
...
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
...
I watched with glee
While your Kings and Queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
I shouted out
'Who killed the Kennedys?'
When after all -
It was you and me
...
Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached Bombay
...
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
...
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners Saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I'll lay your soul to waste, um yeah
...
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, um baby, get down
...
Tell me baby, what's my name
Tell me honey, baby guess my name
Tell me baby, what's my name
I tell you one time, you're to blame
...
What's my name
Tell me, baby, what's my name
Tell me, sweetie, what's my name
...

My primary interest atm is psychology, funnily enough. Not that you have any true reason to believe it, but I'm currently studying psychology at the University of Adelaide. It really lets you see the world and its inhabitants in a different shade.

You wouldn't be interested in much about my actual self. My purpose on Neo is largely for my own entertainment, and when this ideal is combined with my lust for experimentation... Well, let's just say that Neoseeker is a psychologist's dream. A cross-section of the global society who aren't inhibited by traditional social conventions.

Much of what I say is intended to invoke different reactions in the respondee. You might see this as other than entertaining, but I really don't care. The only consequences are, as far as you should be concerned, that you may need to reconsider whether what you've said wasn't entirely uninfluenced by my own posts.

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise, but you sure seem to place a lot of integrity in your independence.

...

Well, as a matter of fact, that's my attitude towards most people here. Not everyone. I acknowledge that there is a minority who aren't here to forge and live the life of a character they obviously prefer to their real identities. Which is sad in many ways. But I don't want to make an unfair generalisation that encompasses the rest of you.

In fairness, I've actually met a few people here in my (comparatively) short time who I don't mind at all. The reasons differ, obviously, but nevertheless.

So for those of you who are interested - for whatever reason that might be - here are some brief interests of mine:

I do like to argue, a lot. We've all heard that conflict is the essence of drama, which effectively means that we all find it entertaining. But I'd take this one step further and suggest that conflict is the essence of progress. Think about it. Evolution by natural selection requires a struggle for survival. The more intense the struggle, the more quickly things are achieved. Technology increases exponentially during wars.

I do take a LOT of time to think through my points of view. I do tend to present them in a way that at least seems very opinionated (and at most, quite patronising). I am still open-minded, however, and will take all the effort to root out your own opinions. Don't take this to heart, it's nothing personal.

My argument style is rather like judo. I'll push you, you'll push back and I'll try to use your own momentum to bring you to ground. I often take up arguments that I don't actually agree with, just to see where they lead. Or to give you another point of view. You can't make a justified decision until you've considered all alternatives.

Music:

A huge part of my life. I'm of the opinion that the majority of the purpose of art is to invoke emotion, and music's no exception. It should come as no surprise, then, that anything with decent lyrics or roaring riffs are way up there in my books.

Favourite band: Pink Floyd. No question. David Gilmour - quite possibly the greatest guitarist of all time. Coupled with Roger Waters, unquestionably the greatest lyricist of all time. The rest is detail, although I can't really argue with the talent of the other members, either. 'Nuff said.

Favourite artist: Ozzy Osbourne. All hail King Ozz, both before and after Sabbath. Gene Simmons once said that 80% of being a rock star is the rock star image. And Ozzy invented the bloody thing as we know it today. Some truly timeless, sensational songs.

Books:

Don't have anywhere near as much time nowadays as I'd like to read. And, unfortunately, that particular circumstance doesn't seem to be likely to ease in the forseeable future. So I'm making the most of my time, atm, and reading the classics.

Currently - The Iliad.

Lord of the Rings is probably, in most respects, my favourite book(s). There are others, but to recall and list them is boring. And you don't care that much anyway, do you?

Movies:

Too many to mention. Star Wars trilogy was a favourite when I was young. LOTR. Anything good, in general.

I separate movies into those I enjoy and those I watch for artistic beauty. In the latter respect, Citizen Kane is the best movie of all time. No question. Watch it, then decide.

Biography:
There's nothing in my history, really, that would interest you terribly much.

If - for whatever reason - you decide that you do want to know more, you can always drop me a PM. No PM will go unread - none will go ignored, unless you're a total pill - and I'll endeavour, as always, to be the best correspondent I can.

Current area of experimentation on Neoseeker:
* Investigating the extent to which threads are replied to differently depending on the thread's creator.

If you're interested in knowing the results to date of any of my analyses, or better yet you wish to participate on one of my experiments, just let me know.

Catch you around.
