Majesco Entertainment has announced today that a revival of a boy and his blob for the Wii. Originally intended for a DS release some time ago, this long-awaited rebirth of a 1989 NES classic has been confirmed for Europe and should be heading that way later this year. No news regarding a North American release, but there's no reason to think the game will be region-exclusive.
Developed by WayForward, the remake will expand upon the original, featuring a new look and feel with hand-drawn and painted animation technology.
"When a boy and his blob first appeared in 1989, it captured the imagination of gamers everywhere with its heartwarming storyline and unique gameplay," said Gui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations, Majesco Entertainment. "Twenty years later, we are proud to bring an updated - yet still charming - reimagining of this beloved title to a new generation of Wii players."
