Assault on Dark Athena now available for play
Xbox Live gained a new demo today: The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena.
The full Xbox 360 game will ship out to stores on April 7th in North America, and April 24th in Europe, while March will bring a PS3 demo to the Playstation Network.
In Dark Athena, you step into Riddick's dirty, dirty shoes as you shoot people, and occasionally punch other people in the face. The demo also allows you to control a drone robot for a bit, which you can use to incite sheer robo-terror in your opponents.
The last Riddick game, The Chronicles...: The Escape From Butcher Bay garnered many positive reviews back in 2004, so no doubt hopes are high for this latest sequel by the same developer, Starbreeze Studios.
So far only review has come in on Dark Athena, from the Offical Xbox Magazine UK: "There's plenty to be getting excited about, despite a slight lack of originality and visual finesse. Make no mistake, Dark Athena is first class stealth/action game with a double dose of top-notch entertainment that competently unites elements of "Mirror's Edge" and the "Splinter Cell" series," said the review.
I can't get the demo now, since I'm away from my 360. Meh, all the same, I probably couldn't anyhow since it is likely Gold exclusive for the time being....
