That's 0.0.1 points from 1.0, for those not counting
Popular open-source media player VideoLAN (VLC) saw version 0.9.9 release last evening, meaning its nigh-on complete. VLC is typically known for its ability to natively play a long list of formats.
Note this is a bugfix release. As such, here are the notables:
- fullscreen behaviour on Windows with multiple screens,
- workaround bug with libxml2 >=2.7.3,
- video performance on Intel-based Macs,
- various decoders updates on Windows.
As a bonus, Real Video 3.0/4.0 support is now in the experimental stage courtesy of the FFmpeg decoder, and many fixes for the Real Media demuxer are incorporated. In short, Real Media support on all platforms is improved.
Maybe this update would fix that, I dunno.
