First episode jumps in sales with new Wii storage solution
Homestar Runner really took off, like so many other unexpected successes spawned by the Internet and hordes of bored people. Here's another achievement for Strong Bad to shove in his cap (or mask).
According to developer Telltale, sales of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner on WiiWare have actually doubled since Nintendo announced their new storage solution at this year's Game Developer's Conference. The series began its episodic release in August 2008 and stars Strong Bad himself, along with other characters from Homestarrunner.com.
Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is best enjoyed with the full five episode "season," like a TV show, and Nintendo's new option to play WiiWare games from SD cards now gives Homestar Runner fans that option.
"Nintendo's new solution really opens the door for players to add to their collection of downloadable games, which is critical for a series with multiple installments," says Telltale CEO Dan Connors. "This is a major step forward for episodic gaming. We're looking forward to even greater success on WiiWare with Strong Bad, as well as other projects."
