Two DSiWare, one WiiWare, and one Virtual Console head to Nintendo's downloadable services.
With the debut of the DSi last week in North America, Nintendo's Wii-kly Update became the Nintendo Download, with DSiWare joining the ranks of the Virtual Console and WiiWare being announced every Monday in this region. In the inaugural edition of the Nintendo Download last week, the launch titles for DSiWare were formally announced, along with EQUILIBRIO for WiiWare, and Uncharted Waters: New Horizons for the Super NES.
As for this second week of the Nintendo Download, two DSiWare titles were announced: Mixed Messages from Activision, and Master of Illusion Express: Shuffle Games from Nintendo. Mixed Messages is essentially a large game of telephone that can be enjoyed by up to twenty-one people, with players alternating between text and drawings to convey a sentence down a line. Master of Illusion Express: Shuffle Games draws from the Nintendo DS title Master of Illusion, teaching the user various card shuffling tricks.
There is a single WiiWare title available today: Party Fun Pirate from the TOMY Corporation. Based on the ever-popular Pop-up Pirate toy from Tomy, it has been translated to a faithful representation on WiiWare. As with the toy, the player to stick the sword that causes our captain pirate to eject from the barrel loses the game.
Likewise, there is a single Virtual Console title: Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure for the Sega Genesis. This time, players will take control of Pitfall Harry Jr., the son of our original hero, Pitfall Harry. In this side-scrolling adventure, our hero must traverse through 13 levels of Mayan jungles, waterfalls, and deserted mines to find his father and save him from Zakelua: Lord of Evil.
As a recap, the games available this week are:
- DSiW: Mixed Messages, Activision, 2-21 Players, 500 Points
- DSiW: Master of Illusion Express: Shuffle Games, 1 Player, 400 Points
- WW: Party Fun Pirate, TOMY Corporation, 1-4 Players, 500 Points
