Teen gets two job offers after hacking Twitter Image 1

While many 17 year olds are happy to land jobs at restaurants, video stores or clothes shops, that wasn't the goal of one New York teen named Michael Mooney.

Michael Mooney -- or 'Mikeyy' as he calls himself -- is a fairly deft programmer who decided to knock Twitter out of comission. To take out the twit-mecca, Mikeyy crafted a worm do his bidding. The worm was successful, taking Twitter offline for a bit of time over the weekend, depriving untold countless people of knowing what Ashton Kutcher thinks about socks, and stuff like that.

Whether he gave it much thought or not, Mikeyy wrote some dumb messages on the site, one of which was "Twitter hire Mikeyy."

Twitter didn't hire Mikeyy -- but according to ABC News, after claiming responsiblity for the hack, two other companies have sent job offers his way.

I hope these companies are thinking about competing with Twitter, that'd be a gas! "You sir have inside knowledge we can... leverage."

Good luck, I doubt Neo would fall to something as easy at brute-force dictionary attacks. Not that I've tried or anything. *shifty eyes*

Oh it was just a brute force dictionary attack? Well that's nothing special. I thought this Mikeyy guy was some sort of whiz.

I once convinced a guy to give me his password for a video game account. Didn't do anything with it, but it did prove that I have supernatural powers of persuasion. Anyone want to hire me??? : D

One guy just sent me his password for an online game and asked me to upgrade his account for him. This shows that people will give me their passwords for no reason at all. Hire me!!!

Programming can be a hobby just like gaming can, I don't see why he hasn't got any right not to get job offers, being in publicity showing that he has certain knowledge of programming obviously attracted companies'attention.
