"Wooo! Having an official release date is awesome!”
There's something heartwarming about goofy games. Today, Electronic Arts and Double Fine Productions announced that Brütal Legend, an example of virtual goofiness, will be heading to North America and Europe on October 13 and October 16, respectively.
"Wooo! Having an official release date is awesome!” said Tim Schafer, President of Double Fine Productions. “And how cool is it that EA threw down the dough to have the name of an entire month changed to Rocktober?"
In Brütal Legend, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners can live the life of Eddie Riggs, played by Jack Black. Riggs is a roadie with a love for hot rods and a photographic memory for every Heavy Metal album cover and lyrics. One night, a stage accident knocks Eddie out, trapping his mind in an alternate world where villains are attempting to enslave the human race.
Of course, only Eddie can save his fellow man by using all his roadie skills -- somehow. Either way, EA and Double Fine promise that this action title will "melt your face off."
Owch. Sounds painful to me.

Psychonauts 2 please?
