It's like Devil May Cry 4... with MORE sex appeal!
So some of you may have heard about this game coming out from SEGA called Bayonetta, developed by Platinum Games. It looks a bit like the love child of Devil May Cry 4 and a Shin Megami Tensei title.
Instead of playing as a cute guy with his busty female cohorts, you'll be taking on the role of a busty female with some very tight clothing. Disappointed that it covers nearly her whole body? Don't worry, the suit actually flies off at various points in the game -- bet that got your attention.
Try to stay focused. Here's a trailer to kick things off, featuring a lovely lady whose head appears too tiny for her body:
Kind of reminds me Trish from the DMCseries, after she consumed Zato from Guilty Gear (now owned by SEGA) and absorbed his powers. Seriously, look 'em up!
SEGA appears to be banking on rampant sex appeal (maybe the gameplay will be good, too) with this one, and the ESRB has definitely taken notice. Their description of the game hilariously explains why they game Bayonetta a Mature rating -- aside from the obvious.
... Players can also perform an assortment of over-the-top finishing moves – referred to in the game as "torture attacks" – on the creatures: impalement with an iron maiden; decapitation with a guillotine; dismemberment with a chainsaw; and summoning a demon that bites, then rips characters apart. During the course of the game, some female characters perform suggestive taunts and poses, including opening their legs or gyrating their hips. Some of the more provocative outfits are shed during battle, resulting in brief depictions of buttocks and breasts. The camera occasionally pans close-up on breasts as they are jiggling. Strong profanity (e.g., "f*ck," sh*t," and "a*shole") can be heard throughout the dialogue.
Now I'm curious to see if SEGA and Platinum Games can stand up to Capcom when it comes to perfect breasts and impossible physics (breasts don't jiggle from normal breathing IRL). Goodness, with gaming headed in such a direction, it's a wonder there hasn't been a Darkstalkers remake yet. Then again, if all female characters looked like Faith, the gaming industry would go bankrupt.
Wait a minute, why didn't we get to see Dante tear his clothes off in DMC4?! I won't stand for this sort of gender inequality!
I heard a lot about this game a short while back. Apparently, she has 4 guns - 2 in her hands, and 2 as the spikes to her high heels, each with a name referencing classical rock. And you know that "armor" she wears? It's all hair. Her hair. So when she's doing those finishers, there is a reason she's now half-nude.
"Then again, if all female characters looked like Faith, the gaming industry would go bankrupt. " This is a sad fact. Just because a woman has huge "assets" makes here a main character apparently. Mirror's Edge did well and Faith had the build of a fairly average person. The game itself looks great, but yea... sexuality is a huge appeal to the markets. By the way, I'm a guy.

Lol is him having a shirtless costume in DMC3 good enough?
But yeah, I also heard about this game a while back too and couldn't wait especially after hearing that Hideki Kamiya is directing it, although I'm not so sure about the main character, doesn't seem as cool Dante and the gun shoes do not help...

This game looks soooo crap. What's all the fuss about?
