You just can't say anything remotely negative about that
Valve often has fantastic weekend deals offered through Steam, but even amongst those great deals, this weekend's special is a stand out.
The Orange Box, which includes Team Fortress 2, Portal, Half Life 2, Half Life 2: Episode 1 and Half Life 2: Episode 2, is 66% off this weekend. After discount that's only 10 clams (American clams) for the whole box'o'games.
Gabe Newel (of Valve) released stats at the last GDC showing that overall profits actually increased when they sold a higher quantity of games at lower price points (as opposed to the standard model of selling far less titles at the $50-$60 range) -- hopefully more publishers will give this idea a whirl. It's much easier to plunk down $10 or $20 or even $30 on a game you are uncertain about, then it is spending around $60 on something. Not to mention, in the age of digital downloads, a game studio has about the same production costs when making 1000 copies of a AAA game, as it does making 10,000,000 copies.
Hehe.
