The "Scratch Deck" was revealed today. This will be the controller used for the upcoming Scratch: The Ultimate DJ videogame for Xbox 360 and PS3.
The controller was developed in part by Numark Industries, which is a large manufacturer of real life, professional DJ equipment. With a touch sensitive turntable, MPC-style drum pads, and a crossfader the Scratch Deck hopes to bring as much of a DJ'ing experience to the Scratch game as the plastic guitar does to Guitar Hero. With the drum pad buttons, players can play pre-loaded samples in the game, or use their own recorded with a compatible USB microphone. The Scratch Deck works for both right and left handed gamers.
“Being involved with Hip-Hop for so long, Numark has consistently been the standard for innovation and leadership in computer DJ controllers, their quality is second to none,” said Quincy Jones III of QD3 Entertainment, the makers of Scratch. “We are very excited to partner with them to deliver the most authentic DJ experience for gamers and look forward to letting gamers and Hip Hop enthusiasts get their hands on the controller for the first time at E3.”
Scratch: The Ultimate DJ is coming this Fall.
