Hardcore squared
The folks at Asus have been busy. They've built a unique, truly monstrous video card that looks only fit for the hardcorest of the hardcore. It is called the Asus MARS 295 Limited Edition. It is possible that only 1000 will be made; each card is numbered.
It is a single PCB dual GTX 285 card. Sort of like the GTX 295, but with added horsepower. The NVIDIA drivers will recognize it as a dual-GPU GTX 295 card, but it uses two G200-350-B3 GPUs. So that's 480 shader processors, and a whopping 4GB of GDDR3 memory.
Sharing the same clock speeds as a GTX 285, the MARS is capable of performing a SLI connection with another MARS card. Perhaps some $4000+ boutique, extreme gaming computer will boast a pair of these cards -- and that would just about be the fastest configuration of GPU power anyone would be able to get, this generation. Extra voltage control abilities on the video card allow for voltage tweaking as well; overclocked this thing would be pretty much more power than anyone could possibly ever need... for a few months.
The cooler used is similar to the one found on the GTX 295, just beefed up a bit to handle the extra heat.
The massive MARS is presumed to be making its first big public appearance at the Computex computer show in the first week of June.
Good on Asus for pushing the limits and building something this uncompromising!
1920x1080 with 16x AA and 16x AF demands quality.
i want 32x aa and above though
i want my games to look like they do in high quality magazine prints.
you know theyre limited by how the game is designed? you're not gonna see a 1024 texture look better at 1920 32x aa, it's inherently low resolution. essentially youll just see a very CLEAR 1024 texture rather than an actual 1920 detailed texture.
