Astro Boy, the over 50-year-old robot created by Japanese manga legend Osamu Tezuka, is set to make a 3D film debut, and new video game appearance, in October of this year.

At E3, a trailer was released for the game. In it, you'll of course be Astro Boy himself, as he battles President Stone and his army of mal-programmed robots. Judging from the trailer, the game looks a bit like a cross between a side scrolling shooting game and a platform game. You'll be able to play it solo or in a two person co-op mode.
