News on Director's Cut soon, too
The Witcher update we mentioned previously now has a release date: July 8. On that Wednesday, gamers will be able to remove the game's digital rights management (DRM), meaning no TAGES and no required disc in drive -- you can tell the developer CD Projekt Red really doesn't like the stuff because in every press release they refer to it as 'annoying', 'troublesome', etc.
More than that, any problems you've been having with EAX and blurred graphics will be gone, and five bonus fan-made adventures (‘Deceits’, ‘Blight of the Bogs’, ‘Wraiths of the Quiet Hamlet’, ‘Wedding’, ‘Merry Witchmas) will be included -- this is the team's way of "expressing [their] thanks to the modding community for their hard work on creating the adventures."
Note being updated to version 1.4 (Enhanced Edition) is a requirement to get this latest patch.
Lastly, those (like us) holding out for the Director's Cut (also mentioned previously): "more info on that product will be released shortly." We'll surely pass any updates along.
