Company wanted to offer better child-rearing environment for her
Apparently, Konami thinks it can raise children better than their actual parents and will not hesitate to act in the best interest of the child. Like demoting and cutting an employee's pay for the good of her new baby, for example.
That's exactly what happened to Konami employee Yoko Sekiguchi, who is thankfully speaking out and -- not surprisingly -- suing the company for $343,000 in damages. After returning from maternity leave, Sekiguchi was allegedly demoted and had her wages cut by $2,080 a month.
Konami apparently reasoned this would create a better child-rearing environment for her. Before her demotion, Sekiguchi traveled frequently to acquire license deals for Konami. Now she holds a domestic position.
Sekiguchi was not amused and states, "Being forced to lessen your career to raise a child is sexual discrimination."
My *bleep*= kitty cat. LOL
sad world.
