Capcom has confirmed this morning that their re-release of the classic 2D brawler Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is officially set for Wednesday, July 29.

The late-July launch is a part of Microsoft's "Summer of Arcade" event on Xbox LIVE, and gamers can then purchase MvC 2 from the LIVE Marketplace for 1,200 Microsoft Points. 

A release date for PlayStation 3 / PSN has yet to be confirmed, but we're guessing shortly after -- if not July 30.
