EA seeking more new soldiers for online TPS
Since it first went live in June, Battlefield Heroes, EA's web-based free-to-play shooter, has accumulated one million players as of today. Tens of thousands of new players have been signing up daily.
“The team is really proud to have hit 1 million registrations at this early stage,” said Ben Cousins, General Manager, Battlefield Heroes Team. “Creating a character and gameplay experience that is totally yours is what sets this game apart – your hero can be anything from a bazooka-toting pirate, a grenade-throwing ninja or even a mime assassin!”
EA boasts that Battlefield Heroes is easy to pick up, contributing to its popularity. The game features character customization and a mission system that lets players spend hours building their characters. Additionally, it features an intuitive built-in matchmaking system that ensures each gamer in the 16-player matches are equally matched as possible.
Players can also download and launch the game from the official site, making it just a bit more accessible to the online gaming community. While the game is free and customization items can be bought with Valor Points (earned during play), there is an option to purchase Battlefunds with real money, via credit card or PayPal.
Despite the cartoon-style graphics, the game is rated T for Teen and 16+ by the ESRB and PEGI.
