Earlier in July, Bohemia Interactive released a developer diary focusing on the basic controls for their award-winning FPS ArmA II, titled "Basic Controls." Duh. It's a very intuitive walkthrough by the creators themselves, going over the game's controls step by step. Today, the devs released another diary video, going over the mission editor.
The first video is particularly helpful to FPS newbies or just ArmA II newcomers. Here it is, first released on July 2.
The second and most recent developer diary video is called "Editor Basics" and focuses on the game's mission editor feature. If you've graduated from the first tutorial vid, congratulations! Now check out the new video, just released today, for some tips on how to create your very own missions -- or campaigns, if you're the ambitious type.
"ARMA II includes a very easy to use editor, yet it's one of the most sophisticated mission editors available in a PC title. It allows players to create their own missions, or even whole campaigns in just a few minutes," introduces Jan Prazak, PR manager.
"Working with it is very easy and quick. In the ARMA II mission editor, players can use every one of hundreds of game's object and models such as weapons, vehicles, aircraft or characters and place them anywhere in the ARMA II game world which has a size of 225km2. The main goal of this dev. diary is to introduce the basic workings of the editor to casual players and allow them to enjoy the infinite possibilities and unlimited gameplay of this, the most sophisticated military simulator on the market."
