Microsoft's sales kick-off event sees Windows 7 RTM announcement

People are just a little excited

Yesterday Microsoft hit the 'release to manufacturing' (RTM) milestone for Windows 7 (build 7600), the last stop before public release (developers and the like have it now).

Windows Server 2008 R2 has also hit its final build -- good news all around, really.

Not one to take the matter lightly, Windows Division President Steven Sinofsky and CEO Steve Ballmer made the announcement at the corporation's annual sales kick-off event in Atlanta, and we thought we'd give you a little look.

Let's just say people were excited.

It's cool to see so much energy from everyone involved, despite the video's bad cuts to black. I don't understand why they were signing the discs though.

It's imperative to note that some people are reluctant just to try Windows 7!

It’s the age old debate to upgrade or not to upgrade that is the question
Although I have found some good stuff in vista after tons of patching and searching forums to make it run nice I still kept missing xp so after some debate I decided to go back to xp

I did miss vista a bit but I couldn’t think of why till I downloaded a theme to make it look like vista and all was well I have a very finely toned xp engine running in a vista chassis

So in the end try them all and whichever you like keep it because its good for you not because some one says you should
