The PKE meter is goin' wild
Atari has a spot of good news this time around, earlier reporting revenue growth of 30.1 percent for its first fiscal quarter. The publisher cited strong sales of titles like Ghostbusters: The Videogame and The Chronicles Of Riddick: Assault On Dark Athena as the key driver of this growth. The Ghostbusters in particular made their comeback in style, scoring combined sales of one million units across all platforms in North America alone since launch this past June 16th. Atari CEO Jim Wilson shares praise for the well-received action adventure:
"We are very pleased with the performance of Ghostbusters: The Videogame, and credit the game’s quality as well as the incredible support from both the established and new fan-base all helping to make this a retail success."Ghostbusters appears to be a strong and relevant movie-based franchise videogame independent of a brand-new theatrical release. We look forward to the continued success of the title as interest and acclaim increase across North America.”
In other news related to the title, Namco Bandai confirms it will publish Ghostbusters: The Videogame in Europe this October 23rd. The game is already available in PAL regions, though it remains exclusive to Sony console platforms until October thanks to a last-minute exclusivity deal.
