It begins
Repeating the massive success of previous series incarnations, Electronic Arts has informed us today The Sims 3 will be seeing its first expansion pack arrive November 16 at retail and via digital download at the EA Store, this following rumours circulating a couple of weeks ago; an iPhone version will head out early next year.
The new pack will be called World Adventures, and will allow you to bring your Sims to famous locations around the world. Want to master martial arts in Shang Simla, China? Have a romantic vacation in Champs Les Sims, France? Explore ancient tombs in Al Simhara, Egypt? It's all here. More than that, new challenges await: your Sims can accept treasure hunting adventures, learn new skills, complete new personal opportunities, and meet and even take home new Sims, each of which with their own culture to share. Lastly, photographs, movies and stories of your journeys can be shared in-game (and out-of-game, too).
No word on a price as of yet, though we'd expect this one to fall in line with previous expansions. As a bonus, 1,000 SimPoints will come with the pack, coinciding with yet-to-be-announced new online content.
