Check out what is happening in Sim-Egypt

Following one of the most successful launches of a video game of all time with almost 4 million units sold, The Sims 3 continues to sell well for EA, and is on track to fill the big shoes of the earlier games in the series.

As everyone has no doubt expected, The Sims 3 will be gaining a multitude of expansion packs. Only about two months after release of the main game, the first expansion has been revealed. Coming November 16th, the first (of many) PC/Mac expansion packs is going to be called World Adventures -- a new trailer was shown today for it, at Gamescom.

EA has recruited some big name musicians to add some tunes to the new expansion, though the songs will all be in Simlish of course. Nelly Furtado (right) will be singing a rendition of a tune called "Manos el Aire", and she will be joined by fellow musicians Pixie Lott (above left), Stefanie Heinzmann, Matt & Kim, and Young Punx.

“I was really excited when I heard EA wanted me to be involved with The Sims 3 World Adventures,” Nelly was quoted as saying. “I love languages, and it was so fun singing in Simlish.”

In World Adventures, you'll be taking your Sims on some adventures outside of your home Sim-town.You'll be able to explore spots in Sim-versions of China, France and Egypt.  If you stop in China, you might want to work on practicing your martial arts in Shang Simla. Or if deserts are more your thing, you can check out some tombs in Al Simhara -- as this new trailer shows below. If in France, perhaps you'll want to take in the famous cultural sites of Champs Les Sims.

In addition to the new locations, there will be a couple of new Sims skills and personality traits to have some fun with as well.  A portable version of The Sims 3 World Adventures will also be available for the iPhone and iPod touch in early 2010 from EA Mobile.
