Design studio rises from the ashes of Midway
Though Midway Newcastle got the axe in July during their parent company's sale to Warner Bros., the team's veterans still have plenty of skill to put to use, and are newly at work doing so under the banner Atomhawk Design.
The new outfit isn't a game development studio per se, but specializes in "digital art and design in 2D, 3D and video media, across all interactive industries including film, games and online."
Newcastle's art director Cumron Ashtiani is leading the new team along with lead concept artists Corlen Kruger and Pete Thompson, as well as lead graphic designer Steven Pick.
“The company is built entirely around our key goal which is to provide a world class design and digital art production service, helping our customers to visualise their ideas and to present those ideas to the world with breathtaking style and quality,” reads their website.
Prior to its closure, Newcastle was working on the promising Necessary Force, a sandbox-style detective game.

Someone could buy it and finish it off though -- a lot of work has been put into it after all.
