Official statistics show lots of playtime
Uncharted 2 is due for release in the next week or so, and already it has had an impact on modern gaming. With dozens of stellar reviews (none lower than a 9/10 and 19 being perfect scores) and a standing Metacritic score of 97, Naughty Dog seem to have hit the nail on the head.
With the single-player content not available to the vast majority of gamers at present, most of us have been tailing the online mode since the beta became open a little over a week ago.
The beta contains several game modes with four of the in-games maps to experiment with. Though there have been issues with the matchmaking system, it musn't have put many people off, as statistics show the total play time already exceeds 27 years.
These number were published on Sony's official blog earlier today:
- Total Number of games played – 1,217,424
- Total Number of Kills – 92,110,787
- Total Number of Treasures Captured – 1,860,645
- Total Amount of Money Earned – $38,841,367,350
- Total Time Played – 9,905 days (or 27+ years!)
For anyone who has been an active member of the Uncharted 2 beta, they will know that these numbers are both surprising and phenomenal. Naughty Dog have already conveyed their appreciation from the support of critics and fan alike, and this announcement will only keep the ball rolling up until the release of their masterpiece.
kudos you deserv it for making a nice gaming that i wil buy and maybe show other publishers that if you make good games people will spend money on you
This doesn't include the speculated 750,000 years spent playing WoW back when it was published (1000 would have been horribly undersized)
Also you almost had the math northern, it's 10,000 people not 1,000.
3x8x1000 / 24 / 365 isn't 27+ it's 2.7+
Neo covered the piece as well a while back.
