Activision delivers at last
A demo for the console verison of Raven Software's fine shooter Wolfenstein has been out for consoles a few weeks now, however PC gamers have been left out in the cold a bit, until now at least.
Activision have just informed us a PC demo is now ready to go; grab the 685MB file here.
A rather amusing note comes with the e-mail from Activision. Take heed:
*** Please note: This is an M-rated game and this demo is not appropriate for anyone under 18 years old nor for gamers based in Germany.
This of course goes along with the game's recall in that territory; it would seem some Germans at least cannot handle the sight of swastikas.
Anyhow, with some luck this baby will help the studio get the sales it deserves following those distressingly low numbers, particularly on PC.
1. the nazi things are still controversial and many think are not over in this ever-more doomed world
2. the game is basically a crap-up copy of Call of Duty
Also Wolfenstein came way before the Call of Duty series was even a thought haha. Go look up classic shareware and Wolf 3D / Spear of Destiny.
I don't know about the rest of the gamers but personally I'm pretty tired of the same ole WW 2 shooter being remade over again. It would be really cool if the designers actually tried to make some new designs instead of rehashing every mechanic that everyone has seen 100 times before.
Speaking of first wolfenstein which I did played in school when I was about 8 years old , it was nothing remotely similar to today's COD.
