DiRT 2 PC trailer shows off DirectX11 features Image 1

Awhile back we announced the PC version of Codemasters' DiRT 2 would be delayed so the team could implement the graphical advancements DirectX 11 and Windows 7 have to offer.

Today we have a trailer in -- in keeping with Windows 7's launch -- showing exactly what differences they've made since that time, covering hardware tessellation, Shader Model 5.0, depth of field, ambient occlusion, shadows and more.

For insight on DirectX11, check out our By the numbers news feature.

And now for the main event:

If you've been looking forward to DiRT 2 on the PC, it's not much longer to wait: expect it on shelves December 1 in North America and December 3/4 in Europe/UK.

At a glance it looks like real racing.
Those water effects especially look a little too good.
