First Modern Warfare 2 and now even more bad news
PC gamers have had cause to be somewhat distraught over recent news that Modern Warfare 2 will not have dedicated servers for PC gamers for online play. And now, in a third blow, it looks like Rebellion Development's Aliens vs. Predator will not feature dedicated servers either.
Though this has not been confirmed officially, in a recent chat with CVG, AvP producer David Brickley awkwardly danced around questions given to him on the topic, indicating that he is probably withholding some bad news. Asked three separate direct times on the subject on whether AvP would have dedicated servers for PC gamers, the game's producer answered the questions with waffles and babbles, going on about DirectX11, the game's strong PC heritage (Rebellion made a PC AvP game in 1999), and how servers were really expensive and how they want PC gamers to have a great time with the game. And then he capped things off by saying things haven't been determined yet.
All in all, it looks like he could have just said 'no' from the get-go. But we'll have to wait for the official determination.
Whatever Spark. You're just a gamer.
