Classic ARPG Divine Divinity available now, compatible and DRM-free

The action-RPG list for the PC is terribly long, with a handful of series that really stand out from the pack. Aside from the Diablos and the Sacreds (among others), we have the Divinity series.
Back in the early part of the decade when everyone was bringing their RPGs into the 3D realm, developer Larian Studios said to heck with it and made a traditional-style isometric RPG which we now know as Divine Divinity. Lucky for them the game was very well-received by fans and the press alike, and now fans old and new can get a stab at it with its release today on digital distribution site Good Old Games (GOG), priced at just $6.
GOG's deal with Larian also sees the less well-received but still worthy of release "standalone add-on" Beyond Divinity lined up -- expect that one in the coming weeks.
As is always the case with GOG's releases, these come compatible with current operating systems (Windows 7 is pending, but with similar results to Vista so far), are DRM-free, and come with extras (these ones pack soundtracks, some very cool novellas -- one written by Mirror's Edge author Rhianna Pratchett, as was the dialogue for the first title -- and more). Note this version of Divine Divinity is the "remastered" version which includes fixes and supports higher resolutions.
And if you like these titles, remember Divinity II: Ego Draconis -- a 3D take on the series -- is being readied for a North American release this winter.
I got that, and it's truly smegging awful. Maybe it was just a ripoff of it?
