Mythic Entertainment's massively multiplayer online role-playing game now, uh, online

Mythic Entertainment creator of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Dark Age of Camelot, working in partnership with Vivendi Universal Interactive Publishing, has announced that the game shipped to retailers today, a week ahead of schedule.

"We’re thrilled with the retail demand for the game. Our hugely successful beta test and the resulting word-of-mouth have resulted in a phenomenal number of pre-orders,” announced Mark Jacobs, President of Mythic Entertainment. "This couldn’t have happened without the total support of our partners at Vivendi Universal Interactive Publishing. Working with them to bring our game to the public has been an absolute pleasure."

"Mythic Entertainment has created a dynamic, fantasy MMORPG which is about to make a significant impression with the online gaming community," added Philip O’Neil, Senior Vice President of Vivendi Universal Interactive Publishing North America. "Dark Age Of Camelot has clearly demonstrated that it is on track to take its place amongst the best-selling PC titles of the season."

When Dark Age of Camelot opens its doors, there will be 46 customer service representatives standing by on the phones, Internet, and inside the game to ensure that the players’ experience with the game is an enjoyable one. The team that created Dark Age of Camelot will continue to work on the game in the coming months.
