Aquamark 3 Benchmark Released!!
Howard Ha - Monday, September 15th, 2003 | 8:55AM (PT)

One of the first true DX9 based game engine benchmarks has been released!

Massive Development has released their AquaMark3 today for general download.  Aquamark 3, based on Massive's "Krass" engine, is set to be one of the mainstay benchmarking applications for next generation video cards with its extensive utilisation of DirectX9.0. Previously, Aquanox was one of the most used benchmarks for evaluating gaming video cards...

As a benchmark using a real gaming engine, AquaMark 3 should satisfy most gamers who demand more than just synthetic benchmarks.

The benchmark is split up into several versions: a basic free version is available for download (63MB folks!).  You can also pay for an upgrade to Pro and Plus versions which include more features (such as automatic screen shot generation at predetermined times).

That's just a sample of some of the lovin' that this benchmark has in store for you!  We'll be adding AquaMark to Neoseeker's own mix of reviews in the future and we're also working on compiling benchmarks to give you an idea of what we get so far on our existing cards, so if you have a DX9 card (and even if you don't, since the benchmark will also use DX8 and DX7) then run on over and check it out!!
