Valve confirms TF2 content and "more Portal"
Lydia Sung - Thursday, January 31st, 2008 | 11:54AM (PT)

There will be cake.

Who knew the Orange Box would wind up with such a huge cult following?  Okay, so that may have been a given, but Doug Lombardi of Valve reassured the gaming community that there will be more Portal - you know, that goofy puzzle game with cubes and cakes?

Lombardi spoke to Eurogamer about upcoming updates for the Orange Box games, "There'll be more Portal, for sure. But the details of that, to be honest, we're still working out."  But wait, that's not all!  Dougy also confirmed new Team Fortress 2 maps, which will arrive in downloadable bundle packs for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and cost nothing.

Valve isn't making any promises yet as far as release dates, and Gordon's future is being kept a juicy mystery:

"In Episode One I think we left people with some big questions. After Episode Two people saw it was going somewhere.  With Episode Three we want to live up to the promise of where we are taking things to; there's a lot of work being done to make sure we deliver on that promise.  Exact details on what's next for Gordon are a way off; probably months not weeks."

However, the company is planning to keep extra content for the Orange Box free as a way of encouraging gamers to purchase their orange bundle of joy.  Companion Cube shall live forever!

Ep4 would be Half Life 3 as Gabe Newell made it official Ep3 is the last episode.

Given their move back on the idea of episodic gaming, it seems the company is more into the idea of just taking the time to release a larger title instead.
