Resident Evil, Mega Man & Street Fighter top Capcom's most lucrative franchise list

Street Fighter II remains Capcom's best-selling game at over 6 million copies sold
As part of its fiscal 2007 earnings report, Capcom releases its lifetime-to-date sales for the numerous game franchises it has launched throughout its tenure as games developer and publisher. It's a fascinating teardown for fans of some of console gaming's most well known series; for example, while it's no surprise that the Mega Man series has the most number of titles under its belt, the franchise still sold considerably fewer games than Resident Evil. Survival horror looks built to last, as the Resident Evil series sells over 34 million games globally. Sales for the Mega Man and Street Fighter series couldn't quite top RE, but they certainly weren't poor by any means. The Ace Attorney franchise meanwhile couldn't crack the top ten, but it's still relatively young and certainly in no danger of disappearing from Capcom's software library; it's impressive enough that the series is as popular as it is outside of Japan!
