European subscriber to World of Warcraft? Somehow managed to pull yourself away from the game long enough to read this news story? You may be happy to hear that the beta sign-up has begun for the latest Blizzard expansion, Wrath of the Lich King.

The option of signing up for the beta appears for European subscribers only, on their account page. No word on the North American beta start date.

And no telling how long the beta period will be -- but Blizzard being Blizzard, the beta will surely stretch until the Lich King is ready to rock with only the smallest of hinderances.

This expansion should tide people over until the next World of Warcraft game comes out.
