Dungeons and costumes galore
Don'tcha just love this modern gaming thing? New downloadable RPG dungeons? I never would've dreamed as such as a young lad. WiiWare's Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (there's a mouthful) is getting the DLC treatment today as touched on before, giving gamers three dungeon packs and two costume packs. Here's the rundown:
Dungeons
These range from 100 to 300 Wii Points (WP), or $1-3 USD/CDN. The first pack includes two dungeons and goes for 300 WP. The second is just one dungeon, and goes for 200. The third adds a single dungeon for 100.
One of the dungeons in the first pack is known as the Infinity Spire, named aptly because it "levels up" once you complete it, making it harder each go-round. The second pack adds a dungeon which in turn adds libraries to the building menu once cleared; these teach party members race-specific abilities. The final pack provides a jukebox and the ability to rename your adventurers in the casle once that's cleared.
Costumes
These cost 100 WP each and require three blocks. The first is for the "king-a casual outfit", meant for warmer seasons. The second is for the "Chime-a cool outfit", intended for tropical climates. Costume changes can be done immediately after purchase and download.
Pretty cool, though there's nothing about the downloadable races, as mentioned. Some are complaining this is too pricey for what you get. At $15 for the game with optional DLC, it seems to even out pretty well, but what do you think? Just look at that face: would it try to rip you off?
