Web actress, writer and fellow nerd has some advice for WoW players

If that video pretty much sums up your love life at the moment, then this is the article for you.

Felicia Day is the writer and star of the web sitcom "The Guild" and has acted in "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" and "Legend of Neil." Judging by a recent interview with Asylum, it looks like she'd be a good fit for the world's first (far as I know) World of Warcraft romantic (and even sexual) advice column. Basically, if you need help picking up girls in WoW (yes, you read correctly), Day has some words of wisdom for you:

"[M]ost of the female avatars in World of Warcraft are actually guys. So if you're a guy looking to meet girls, you need to make sure to put the person you're interested in through that vetting process. And if you're a girl, be prepared to fight guys off with a stick because there's a lot more of them than there are female gamers. You should join a large guild and pair with other people to go on missions. Try and meet people who are on your same level."

"...if you're a noob you probably won't get a second glance. Just like in real life when a guy drives a Ferrari, it might not be an automatic thumbs up, but it does catch the eye. So if you have the Ferrari of broadswords, yeah."

She also says style of dress and spelling are very important, and, despite the risks, gamers interested should pursue real life relationships with those they do manage to make a connection with in the game:

"I think you should definitely take it offline. I dated a guy once who had a great speaking voice but there was just nothing there when we were together. That happens, people have "keyboard chemistry" as I call it in the show and they get together in real life and it's not what they were expecting."

C'est la amour...

Actually, in reality, for most people, amorous love is far too deep to be found on Internet chattings or gaming websites or dating websites. I'd somewhat choose offline datings rather than on-line dating options which are sometimes whimsical enough to amuse for a short time, but it definitely lacks solemnity for long-term.

    I hear ya THM.

Personally I think having a WoW-based relationship is kind of sad, but hey, whatever makes you happy.

Meh, It something fun to do in Azeroth but it won't equate well in the real world.

As a WoWer, I see my share of people hooking up through the game as though it were a dating service. Some have been playing for years together before they entertain the idea, some not so. And I've seen them both work AND fail.

The idea of dating someone before you already kinda know them is still rather alien to me, on or offline.
