First, players will get nine races across seven all-new and completely redesigned Time Trial maps. "No guns, no cops, and no city: this is true aesthetics, agility and flow that will challenge any runner," they say.
It was initially speculated the DLC would be PS3-exclusive, but it turns out this is just one extra map, which will be free. Happily, the content is coming for the PC as well -- all this in late January, for $10 USD or 800 Microsoft points (it is unclear how this'll work for PC gamers).
As for the PC release date -- this has been moved officially to January 13 for North America and January 16 for the rest of the world, from the previous January 6 date listed by retailers.
“The freedom of movement and control in first person has been the most popular aspect of Mirror’s Edge so we decided to distil these down to their purest form for this map pack,” says Owen O’Brien, Senior Producer, DICE. “We deliberately chose a more abstract aesthetic that is still within our distinctive art style and then focused on flow and gameplay to create an experience and challenge very different from the main game.”
Umm Ded Valve I'm not really sure what your talking about, but it is a literal mouse. Anyway this looks pretty cool, kind of reminds me of the retro levels in Mario Sunshine.
Those time trail maps make the game very similar in mechanics to a indie PC game back in the mid '90s, where you were a little space ship that progressively speed down tracks, and you had to jump left and left and while adjusting your forward momentum in order to jump on multi-colored ledges and jumps.
I would not be surprised at all if that old game is where the inspiration for Mirror's Edge gameplay mechanics came from. As much as the tech has changed, the mechanics of both games were pretty similar.
Anyone else see the mouse at 22 seconds? :S haha
Sometimes it shows up in my games when a pop up add or something I was downloading tells me I'm done but doesn't show.
Looks cool btw.
