More support is here
To those that have been watching their copy of Crysis collect dust, you may be inclined to bust that sucker out again, as the 1.3 patch has been out for a little bit now, according to the latest Crysis monthly update. Additionally, a patch for Crysis Warhead is near completion. For a company that has vowed to not develop any more PC exclusives, Crytek sure do seem to operate a great support community, hey?
Here are the details on the patch:
Fixes:
- Fixed: Custom assets in downloaded maps will now be loaded correctly
Updates:
- Updated: New Power Struggle Map 'Frost' The frozen jungle environment finally makes it into Crysis Wars! Make the best of your environment in this infantry-focused map which provides incredibly tight match-ups. Enjoy the new version of the small prototype factory, featuring a third, sneaky entrance for more tactical encounters.
- Updated: New Team Instant Action Map 'Savanna' Experience a new full vehicle Team Instant Action map, in a different, never-seen before setting of the African savanna. Will you be able to take advantage of the sniper positions or rule the map from the air? Use the destroyed train as an efficient cover or roam around the map with heavy tanks, this is your choice for fast, heart-pounding action.
Download links for the patch can be found through the source.
There's other news on MyCrysisTV, and a note about CryMod, but the real big news is the coming of the Editor and SDK:
The Editor and SDK are being worked on and will be available for release in the new year, we currently don't know when this will be, but good progress is being made and we're hoping it will be sooner rather than later. Crysis Warhead will receive a patch in the new year, it's almost finished thanks to some hard work from the Warhead team, so thats something to look forward to.
Yet another reason not to feel bad about getting into a game late!
This is for the original Crysis, yes? It adds the above stuff?
Isn't there already a map editor for Crysis though? Comes bundled with the game (albeit, only for 64 bit OSes). What's the difference between that editor, and the the above mentioned editor?
Though I imagine the SDK is a tool used to edit the main game, which is new. Though people have already been doing it, it wasn't with the use of an SDK.
Or is that talk about an Editor and SDK aimed at Warhead users?
The Editor I assume is something different and works in tandem with the SDK -- like, an additional tool.
Something I didn't see: Warhead will be patched soon, too.
This has me rather confused now. Are the 2 new maps from Crysis Wars now coming to the original Crysis MP?
