European release just days after North American launch
Great news for European gamers. Koei has finally announced the European release date of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and 3. Japan saw a December launch, and North America will be getting the sequel title on March 24. Europe follows closely with a release date set for March 27, 2009.
Koei's announcement came equipped with a promotional segment as well:
With the Gundam phenomenon once again taking the gaming and anime worlds by storm in Japan this is the chance for European gamers to discover what all the fuss is about. A chance to take control of robots the size of tower blocks. A chance to unleash enough firepower to level entire cities. A chance to wade into battle against hundreds of armed to the teeth Mobile Suits. A chance to indulge in some of the most elaborate combos and incredible attack animations yet to feature in a Warriors game. And a chance to light up their TV screens with a spectacular feast of pyrotechnic mayhem as armies of giant robots clash in massed battles on a stupendous scale.
While the Japanese version of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 gets some exclusive DLC, Koei has tried to compensate Western fans by adding a number of enhancements to the game's Versus Mode in American and PAL versions.
Certain changes from the first game have been made, including (but not limited to) improved AI, new combat abilities, extra character content, and an expanded Gundam Universal Century calendar, adding more storyline from the Gundam universe.
