Over 3.6 million matches played worldwide on PlayStation 3
Since its launch in November 2008, Midway's multi-platform fighter Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe has reached a retail milestone. Midway was more than pleased to announce that as of today, it has shipped 1.8 million copies worldwide for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Additionally, the game was Midway's most pre-ordered Mortal Kombat title, and stats gathering service GameSpy Technology reports over 3.6 million online matches have been played across the globe for the PlayStation 3.
"Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe was the result of countless hours of hard work by many people, and seeing the game surpass the million-seller plateau makes it worth all the effort," said Ed Boon, Mortal Kombat co-founder and creative director. "We're already hard at work on our next version of Mortal Kombat, and look forward to being able to reveal more details in the future."
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is currently available for a suggested retail price of $59.95, while a limited number of the Kollector's Edition is still available for $69.95 in the US.
